Introducing Jaidyn Elizabeth

Most of you may have already seen our sweet daughter in pictures on FB or on the EBCalumni site....
but I have been encouraged to update this blog as well.

Here She is:
Jaidyn Elizabeth Ferguson

Cozy in a hat and swaddled!

Mom and Baby doing well...

The C-section was scheduled for Monday September 28th - but I went into Labor and my water broke on Friday the 25th in the afternoon... so an emergency C-section was ordered due to the fact Jaidyn was breech. She was born at 6:03pm Friday September 25th

For those of you who were a part of my life 15 years ago you may recall this was the date that my dad graduated to Glory - I thought it was completely appropriate to have this bundle of JOY arrive on such a day!

This is Martain and his Dad enjoying looking at our sweet girl.
This is Martain's Parents first grandchild... I think they are a bit excited!

God Provides!

We've started camp...so the staff for the summer are here. One of the staff girls is a cousin of Martain's...she is so fun! Her day off was today so she came down to our house to help me a bit. We went to the store for curtain rods, installed them and then attempted to put the crib together so I could decorate it with the adorable bedding collection we just got. Well...the crib sort of fell apart, at least one side of it...the last side I might add, so it looks more like a mini-day bed instead of a crib.

We adorned the broken crib anyway because I wanted to see it all together. Sorry I don't have a pic yet.

Well - the Lord is already providing for another crib! PTL!

Actually We already have several pieces (big ticket items) that have been gifted to us.

from my bro and sis in law

Crib
Pack-n-play
Double Stroller
Swing
High Chair
Two car seats (although they are out dated)

from a friend in Ohio that works at Graco
New Graco Car seat and base
New Graco stroller

from some friends here in PA

New Crib

We are just so thankful fro all the Lord has provided!

Bedding Collection for the Baby

I have been trying to figure out what theme I was really going to settle on for this little girl due to arrive the beginning of October.
Originally I wanted to do Mickey and Minnie Mouse...however..I am limited by my color scheme...The carpet is red, we painted the walls a Khaki color and all the trim is white. Most of the Minnie Mouse stuff is Pink and Purple....and not my favorite anyway!

I started looking online and came across a cute collection that had a few Ladybugs on it...

it was a pretty good deal - about $100 off the original price. Then my friend Jenny found it on another site for another $20 off...

I thought, hm, I should just check ebay...just in case...
well - I DID find it, and though I have NEVER bought anything on ebay before...my wonderful husband has...so I called him at work...he bid on it...and we got it!
Yeehaw!!!
Oh and it was another $50 off of the cheapest I had seen online....so for $90 - I am getting a nine piece bedding collection for my little ladybug!

What fun!

Pregnancy...

Well, I feel like I officially look pregnant. Up until now I was feeling more like I just looked chubby.

*Fun* things that I have been noticing... (*insert sarcasm)

my belly has gotten big enough I can no longer see my toes, without bending over a little.

I can't sit for very long or I get numb bum! (thanks baby Fergie!)

Since my belly is visible...it is being touched, by other people. It's funny how well people THINK they know you....maybe I should rephrase that, it's funny how people think that you are such good friends...good enough to come up and rub your belly. I KNEW it was going to happen...I just had my hopes that maybe since I haven't lived here all that long people might keep their distance...no such luck. Funny though, I don't think this would bother me as much in Minnesota.

I get spurts of energy as well as a crazy desire to clean...and then I wear myself out! At least some cleaning gets done.....

I can't sleep on my stomach or my back...which is actually really annoying...but I eventually get comfortable enough I can fall asleep.

My little girl loves to punch and kick mommy just as soon as mommy wants to rest, take a nap, or go to bed....I hope that doesn't keep up after she's born!

It's a girl!!!

We found out on Monday that we are having a girl. I have no idea about girls as I grew up with 3 boys (brothers). I do have several nieces so maybe I'll be alright. Haha.

We went to an appointment on Wednesday and they gave us the results for the sonogram as well as the quad-screen blood test I had done a few weeks ago.....All is well. At least at this point all levels are normal.

Monday We Find Out

Well, our ultrasound is scheduled for Monday morning, May 18th. Supposedly we get to find out if we are having a boy or girl at this time. I do have a concern though, they tell me I need to drink 3- 8 oz glasses of liquid one hour before the appointment...I can't even drink ONE 8 oz glass of liquid straight down without feeling like my insides aren't all sloshy. PLUS then I am supposed to keep all the fluids IN me...they need me to have a full bladder, that is NOT a nice thing to tell a pregnant lady...that she CAN'T use the restroom!!!
Seriously!!!

I am excited to find out...but to be honest, I am not sure if I'll post it right away on facebook or EBCAlumni...You see, I was frustrated a few weeks ago when some people THOUGHT they were seeing an update and they took it upon themselves to announce it on another website...when in fact there was no announcement, only my husband being silly!

What do you all think? Am I being too emotional? Is it just hormones?

I am planning on calling or texting all the family and some close friends.

I am sure knowing myself I won't be able to keep the secret for long!

****Yes I finally updated*****

New Year's Eve - and the New Year

Well New Year's Eve was fun. We went to Bruce and Joyce Yorgey's house...Martain and I were supposed to be in charge of the activities...but we mostly just hung out, chatted and ATE!!!
Right before midnight Bruce Yorgey wanted us to pray in the new year...so we were actually in the middle of praying as the new year hit. I still snuck a quick kiss from my hubby, since I have one, hee hee.

The first day of the year I woke up felling under the weather and by 1pm Martain decided it was time to get me some help...with no Doctors open on New Year's Day, and us living in a small enough community that there are NO urgent care facilities, we had to go to the Emergency Room. Did I mention I hate hospitals...AND NEEDLES!
They needed to take blood and after the diagnosis of UTI, I needed an IV with antibiotics, another needle. After a few hours we were allowed to leave and for the most part I am feeling better. Every once in awhile I don't feel well...but I'm hanging in there!

We are planning a reception for this area...January 24th. more details will follow.
